The In&box is the detection device that enables the airbag system to function and is exclusively compatible with airbag products equipped with In&motion technology.
Basics of the In&box
Turning on the In&box for the first time
If the In&box serial number starts with 54XXXXXX
Turn on the In&box using the side switch. If the side button is already ON, perform a quick double press on the central button.
If the In&box serial number starts with 63XXXXXX
Turn on the In&box by performing a quick double press on the central button.
Turning the In&box on and off
The In&box can be turned on and off by:
- side ON/OFF latch (available on In&boxes with serial numbers starting with 54XXXXXX)
- central button
- ON/OFF function in the My In&box app
- automatic standby
For more information, see the page How to turn the In&box on and off?
Inserting the In&box correctly
The In&box must be correctly inserted into its slot on the vest: properly positioned and pushed all the way in, with the latch fully engaged to hold it in place. Then check that the inflator LED is lit green.
Meaning of the LEDs (lighting code)
Here are the different LED colors you may see on the In&box:
Inflators LED
Below are three situations illustrating an In&box inserted in the airbag product:
Solid green : In&box on = airbag functional
Solid red : In&box on = airbag non-functional
No light : In&box off = airbag non-functional
If the inflator LED indicator is first solid green for 3 seconds and then flashes green twice, inflator A is full and connected, and inflator B is empty and/or not connected.
If the inflator LED indicator first remains solid green for 3 seconds and then flashes green once, inflator B is full and connected, and inflator A is empty and/or not connected.
GPS LED
Solid green : GPS active (outdoors) = airbag functional
No light: GPS inactive = airbag functional
Inflator and GPS LEDs
The two upper LEDs flash red : In&box problem = airbag non-functional
See the article What to do if the In&box does not work?
- - The two upper LEDs flash blue alternately: the In&box is trying to connect to your Wi-Fi access point
- - The two upper LEDs flash blue simultaneously: synchronization and update procedure is in progress
Warning: make sure not to turn off the In&box using the side switch when the LEDs are blue!
- When the In&box is connected to a computer via USB for charging, the blue LEDs remain solidly lit. This is normal behavior.
Battery LED
Battery below 5% (red flashing). Charge the In&box!
Battery below 30%. (about 5 hours of remaining use).
Battery charged (30 to 99%) or In&box off.
Battery charged to 100% (In&box plugged in)
If you have a problem with the In&box or if the LEDs behave strangely, you can refer to the article on In&box malfunctions.
