How do I replace my inflator after the airbag has inflated?
After inflation, the airbag system can be reused. Simply replace the Inflator (gas canister) and carry out the post-inflation procedure below to make sure that your airbag system has not been damaged.
Once inflated, the pressure in the airbag bladder will slowly decrease. However, the airbag will remain inflated to prevent any risk after the fall. On the In&box, the “inflator” LED (indicator light) in the top left turns red, indicating that the inflator is empty or faulty.
To reactivate the In&motion airbag system, open the “My In&box” app, go to the “After an incident” section, then click “What to do after a fall?”. On the “Next steps” page, select “Replace the inflator”. Finally, scan your new inflator and follow the 4 recharging steps displayed on the screen.
Important warnings about the inflator before starting the procedure:
- Warning: Only inflators supplied by IN&MOTION (references: IMI 2368 or IMI 7112) are certified and ensure the proper operation of the IN&MOTION airbag system. Never use any other references.
- Handle it with care. Do not drop it.
- Do not place your fingers on the connector located at the end of the inflator (the blue or black part, depending on the inflator).
- Never connect the connector before screwing in the inflator.
In the event of damage or an anomaly, do not use your airbag product and contact your local dealer. To have your airbag product serviced, contact your dealer. To obtain a new inflator, you can purchase one directly from our website or visit your nearest dealer.
1. Check the condition of the airbag product and plastic parts
- There must be no holes, tears, areas with broken threads or signs of abrasion. The plastic parts must not have any areas of whitening.
- Check that the back protector is not damaged (no holes or tears).
2. Remove the used inflator
Warning: The inflator may be very hot after inflation.
Warning: the inflator must be handled with care! Perform these operations in a clean, dry place and wash your hands before and after replacing the inflator.
- Remove the In&box from its housing and access the Inflator by opening the zip at the back of the airbag product, at the level of the back protector.
- Unclip the Inflator from its housing by pulling it upwards. To do this, pull the Inflator upwards to remove it from its housing.
Warning: do not force or pull on the cable or connector, as this may damage it.
If you have an IMI 2368 inflator
- Slide the clamp towards the connector.
- Using the clamp, press the 2 black tabs on the connector.
- Keep them pressed and gently pull to disconnect the connector.
If the clamp is not included with your product, use your fingers to press the 2 black tabs. If the connector does not unclip, press one tab and then the other until it is removed.
If you have an IMI 7112 inflator

Pinch the black ring and pull to disconnect the connector.
- Unscrew the used inflator.
- Check that the seal is correctly positioned and is not damaged.
At this point, the remaining gas in the airbag bladder will escape automatically.
3. Check the airbag bladder
- Screw the inflation adapter supplied with your inflator into the inflator’s place.
- Using a pump or compressor, inflate the airbag product to 0.3 bar and check that it does not deflate in less than 5 seconds. Any tyre inflation system, such as those available at service stations, may be suitable.
- While the airbag product is inflated, check that there are no signs of tearing and that the seams are not coming undone. If it does not inflate or deflates quickly, do not use your airbag product and contact your local dealer.
- Disconnect the inflation system, unscrew the inflation adapter and release all the air contained in the airbag bladder.
4. Install the new inflator
Warning: There are two types of inflators, depending on the model of your airbag product.
Not sure which inflator reference to choose? Test it on the shop or refer to your airbag product manual.
Warning: never connect the connector before screwing in the inflator.
- Make sure that all the air has been released from the airbag bladder.
- Screw in the new inflator firmly.
- Reconnect the connector. Make sure that it is fully clipped into place.
If you have an IMI 2368 inflator
If you have an IMI 7112 inflator
- Clip the inflator into its housing.
- Check that the inflator is correctly positioned in its housing.
- The aluminium end must be placed against the spacer.
- Close the zip.
- Place the In&box in its housing to check the operation. If the inflator LED turns green, the operation has been successful.
To finish, tick the boxes in the mobile app to confirm that the procedure has been completed and click the “Confirm procedure” button.

A. Automatic flow after airbag deployment
If you are eligible for the Liberty Rider option and it is activated, a flow is automatically triggered after the airbag inflates:
- Call: an emergency call is triggered; click “I’m fine” if you do not need assistance.
- Safety screen: follow the instructions displayed to get to safety.
- Next steps screen: click “Share my feedback” and then answer the few questions asked to submit your experience.
- Return to the dashboard: You can access the feedback form from the dashboard at any time if you'd prefer to complete it later.
B. Share your feedback from the dashboard
You can share your experience spontaneously at any time. Go to the application’s dashboard: a new permanent “After an incident” section gives you direct access to the fall experience form.
