The Wi-Fi access point configuration allows the In&box to automatically connect to a Wi-Fi network as soon as it is powered. This connection will ensure regular access to all updates.
A connection at least once a year (and once a month for monthly subscriptions) is crucial, without which the In&box will be automatically blocked and will not function until the next connection.
Set up my Wi-Fi access point via the My In&box app
From the first use, configure your Wi-Fi access point using the My In&box mobile app. Turn on the In&box and connect it to the app, then follow these steps:
- Go to the "Add Wi-Fi network" tab at the bottom right of the screen.
- Add your Wi-Fi access point: The app will search for nearby Wi-Fi access points. Select yours and enter the corresponding password.
Once configured, you can start synchronization by clicking on the blue button at the bottom of the screen. The In&box will also connect to the configured Wi-Fi access point as soon as it is plugged in and powered, and will automatically download the latest updates.
You can configure up to 3 different Wi-Fi access points.
To add another Wi-Fi access point:
- Go to the "Settings" tab at the bottom right of the screen, click on the In&box in the "My Equipment" section, then "Add" in the "Wi-Fi Networks" section.
- Add your new Wi-Fi access point: The app will search for nearby Wi-Fi access points. Select yours and enter the corresponding password.
Currently compatible Wi-Fi access points are: Wi-Fi b/g/n with WPA/WPA2/WEP protection.
If you have a firmware version lower than 5.1.5 (find the version of your In&box in the Settings menu of your app), Wi-Fi access points with WEP protection and without passwords were not compatible. You will need to download the latest update for your In&box before you can configure your WEP key Wi-Fi access point.
Manually configure my Wi-Fi access point
If you do not have a phone compatible with the "My In&box" mobile app, you can still configure your Wi-Fi access point on the In&box by following the manual procedure on your computer.
For this procedure, you will need your airbag system, the charged In&box, your computer, and the USB cable provided with the In&box.
Note, this procedure must be performed using Firefox or Google Chrome browser.
- Log in to your user account and go to your dashboard.
- Click "Follow the detailed manual procedure here."
If the In&box is not yet activated
- Click "Start" and follow the procedure from start to finish.
If the In&box is already activated
- You do not need to follow steps 1 to 5, start directly from step 6 "Enter the name of your Wi-Fi network".
Step 1: Enter the serial number of your In&motion airbag system
Located on the last label inside the airbag product (make sure to enter the number corresponding to In&motion).
Step 2: Enter the serial number of the In&box
Located on the label on the back of the In&box and starts with 54 or 63. Click "Validate" and download the activation file. Note, do not rename this file and ensure it does not contain () or numbers (e.g., token.imu(1)).
Step 3: Turn on the In&box and connect it to your computer
Using the USB cable. A folder should appear with files.
Step 4: Drag and drop the activation file
Once the In&box is connected to your computer, drag and drop the activation file you just downloaded and drop it at the root of the In&box, that is, directly into the open folder of the In&box. (Ensure that you drop the file directly into this folder and do not open other available folders).
Step 5: Disconnect the In&box
The two blue LEDs indicate activation. If an error occurs, it is indicated by 3 successive red blinks.
Step 6: Enter the name of your Wi-Fi network
Enter the name of your Wi-Fi network, as well as the security key (or connection key). This data is not transmitted to our servers.
Be sure to enter your Wi-Fi network key as indicated on your Wi-Fi box (including uppercase letters).
Click "Validate" and download the configuration file. Note, do not rename this file and ensure it does not contain () or numbers (e.g., wifi.cfg(1)).
Step 7: Turn on the In&box and connect it to your computer using the USB cable
A folder should appear with files.
Step 8: Drag and drop the configuration file
Once the In&box is connected to your computer, drag and drop the configuration file you just downloaded and drop it at the root of the In&box, that is, directly into the open folder of the In&box. (Ensure that you drop the file directly into this folder and do not open other available folders).
Step 9: Disconnect the In&box
The two blue LEDs indicate configuration. If an error occurs, it is indicated by 3 successive red blinks.
- The two upper LEDs blink blue alternately: the In&box is attempting to connect to your Wi-Fi access point.
- The two upper LEDs blink blue simultaneously: synchronization and/or update is in progress.
Note, be sure not to turn off the In&box while the LEDs are blue!
Check the configuration of my Wi-Fi access point
Now, you can check that your Wi-Fi is properly configured:
- Turn on the In&box
- Plug it in near your Wi-Fi access point using the provided USB cable and a charger (not provided). Ensure it is properly plugged into the wall outlet and not via USB.
- The two upper LEDs blink blue alternately: the In&box is searching for Wi-Fi.
- The two upper LEDs blink blue simultaneously: synchronization and/or update is in progress. The configuration has been successful!
- The update will occur at the appropriate time: either while your In&box is plugged in or when you unplug your In&box. At this time, the two upper LEDs will blink blue faster. An update can take up to 2 minutes.
Note: The In&box can be unplugged at any time, but do not turn it off using the side switch during synchronization (two blue upper LEDs).
