Is my airbag system compatible with my motorcycle gear?

Wearing the Airbag System with Motorcycle Jackets

Compatible under certain conditions

  • If your airbag is equipped with the "Essential" module

compatibility-chest-03102024.jpg

The Essential module covers the back, neck, chest, and abdomen.

A = Jacket width under the armpits

B = Chest circumference with the gear that will be worn during the use of the product (without the airbag vest)

  • Step 1 - Measure A
  • Step 2 - Calculate 2 x A
  • Step 3 - Subtract B from the result of step 2 to get measurement M

➜ If M is less than 13, then your gear is incompatible

➜ If M is greater than or equal to 13, then your gear is compatible

The Performance module covers the back, neck, shoulders, chest, and ribs.

➜ If M is greater than or equal to 20, then your gear is compatible

If the total is between 13 and 20:

D = Jacket width at the waist

E = Chest circumference with the gear that will be worn during the use of the product

  • Step 4 – Measure D
  • Step 5 – Calculate 2 x D
  • Step 6 – Subtract E from the result of step 2 to obtain measurement N

➜ If N is less than 18, then your gear is incompatible

➜ If N is greater than or equal to 18, then your gear is compatible

⚠ WARNING: Measurements are made with the gear that will be worn during the use of the airbag product (sweater, additional protection, removable lining, etc…)

⚠ WARNING: Measurements should be taken with the jacket stretched

🛈 Motorcycle gear (textiles or leathers) is elastic and deforms (due to usage, sunlight, movements you make, etc.) allowing the airbag to find the necessary space to deploy at optimal pressure and thus absorb the impact energy.

🛈 The In&motion airbag system can thus be worn under any motorcycle jacket, provided that the above procedure is followed to ensure there is enough room for the airbag to deploy.

⚠ WARNING: Using the In&motion airbag system with an incompatible suit could lead to improper functioning of the system in the event of an incident.

⚠ WARNING: For your safety, if your suit already has a back protector, consider removing it when wearing the airbag. Wearing an additional back protector on top of the one already present in your airbag product might compromise the proper deployment of the system.

⚠ WARNING: The In&motion system is compatible provided you choose a suit that fits your body shape and follows the manufacturer's size guide.

Wearing the Airbag System with Zip-In Jackets and Pants

Compatible under certain conditions

The motorcycle jacket must be compatible.

The size of the pants must match the manufacturer's size guide.

For leather suits, the pants must also have a stretch zone in the crotch area.

If the suit is a product with an integrated airbag, it is compatible if the pants are the associated model.

One of the 2 parts of the zipper, either the jacket side or the pants side, must be mounted on a flexible area (stretch fabric or mechanical flex):

  • At least 3 cm for a textile product
  • At least 5 cm for a leather product

Wearing the Airbag System with Zip-In Liner Products

Compatible under certain conditions

If the In&motion airbag system is in the form of a zip-in liner (Held eVest Clip-In and Furygan Fury Airbag System Liner), it is compatible with the range of clothing defined by the brand in which the liner can be zipped in.
